IIT Hyderabad and Marvell Unveil World’s First Data Acceleration Research Facility

On February 21, 2025, IIT Hyderabad, in partnership with Marvell Technology, launched the world’s first Data Acceleration and Offload Research Facility. This pioneering center is designed to advance AI, networking, and cybersecurity by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Data Processor Units (DPUs) and Compute Express Link (CXL) processors. The facility aims to streamline AI and machine learning (ML) workflows, reducing inefficiencies caused by network bottlenecks. By optimizing data processing and offloading workloads from central processors, this initiative seeks to enhance overall computing performance. The research center will serve as a platform for innovation, enabling faster and more efficient AI-driven solutions across industries. This collaboration reinforces IIT Hyderabad’s commitment to high-performance computing research, positioning India as a leader in AI hardware acceleration and data processing advancements.
